Why Morocco?
Morocco is one of North Africa’s most richly layered destinations — visually striking, culturally deep, and remarkably varied within a short distance. Sitting at the crossroads of Africa, Europe, and the Arab world, it blends ancient cities, mountain landscapes, Atlantic coastline, and vast desert with a confidence that feels timeless rather than theatrical. Travel costs remain good value compared to Europe, yet standards are high: boutique riads, luxury desert camps, and refined resorts deliver comfort without losing a sense of place. Food is bold, regional, and ritual-led, with long lunches and slow evenings built naturally into the rhythm of travel.
What truly sets Morocco apart is contrast. You can move from the intensity of a medina to the silence of the Sahara, or from snow-dusted Atlas peaks to the ocean in a single journey. Add centuries-old craftsmanship, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that rewards curiosity, and Morocco golf becomes ideal for travel that feels immersive, sensory, and quietly unforgettable.

The Morocco Golf Scene
Morocco golf is defined by variety, atmosphere, and year-round playability rather than volume alone. Courses are spread across distinct regions — from Marrakech’s palm-lined desert layouts to Atlantic coastal tracks and cooler mountain foothills — each offering a very different rhythm of play. Standards are consistently high, with strong course conditioning, modern clubhouses, and caddie culture adding to the experience rather than complicating it. Green fees remain good value compared to Southern Europe, particularly when paired with high-quality accommodation.
What elevates golf in Morocco is context. Fairways are framed by the Atlas Mountains, desert plains, or ocean air, and rounds are naturally balanced with long lunches, hammams, and unhurried evenings. It suits golfers who value experience, pace, and setting as much as the scorecard.
The Experiences
Away from the course, Morocco unfolds as a fully immersive cultural journey. Time is spent wandering souks and historic medinas, where craftsmanship, colour, and daily life remain deeply rooted in tradition rather than performance. Marrakech and Fez reward slow exploration — hidden riads, tiled courtyards, call to prayer echoing at dusk — while smaller towns and kasbahs offer a quieter, more grounded rhythm. Hammams and spa rituals provide natural recovery after golf, reinforcing a sense of balance rather than itinerary overload.
Gastronomy is central to the experience. Long lunches, shared tagines, charcoal-grilled meats, fresh breads, and delicate pastries shape the pace of each day, often enjoyed in family-run restaurants or private homes. Beyond the cities, journeys extend into the Sahara Desert, where camel routes, open horizons, and fire-lit dinners create moments of rare stillness. These experiences sit effortlessly alongside golf, turning the journey into something layered, sensory, and unmistakably Moroccan.

Who this journey is for
This Morocco golf journey is designed for golfers who want more than a collection of tee times. It suits curious, well-travelled people who value atmosphere, culture, and pacing just as much as course quality — those who enjoy long lunches as much as long drives, and who see travel as something to feel, not rush through. Morocco appeals to golfers who appreciate contrast: refined riads and raw landscapes, vibrant cities balanced by silence in the desert.
Morocco golf works exceptionally well for golf societies, private groups of friends, and corporate or incentive groups looking for something distinctive without being extreme. It also resonates with partners and non-golfers, thanks to medinas, souks, hammams, gastronomy, and the Sahara Desert offering genuine depth beyond the fairways. If your group values shared experiences, cultural immersion, and a sense of journey — rather than just a destination — this is where Morocco golf truly delivers.
Why We Chose Morocco
We chose Morocco because it delivers depth, contrast, and genuine emotion in a way few golf destinations can. From the moment we wandered the medina in Marrakech — a living maze of craft, colour, and daily ritual — it was clear this was a place that rewards curiosity. Days flowed naturally into evenings of slow dining, from fragrant tagines enjoyed high in the Atlas Mountains to quiet rooftop meals as the city settled into night.
The journey deepened as we moved south, trading noise for silence on a camel ride far into the Sahara Desert, arriving at camp as the light softened and the stars took over. In the north, the souks of Fes revealed another layer entirely — more traditional, more intense, and deeply rooted in craft and history. Exploring Aït Benhaddou, famously used as a filming location for Gladiator, brought history and landscape together in a way that felt cinematic yet grounded.
Morocco stayed with us because it never felt staged. It felt lived-in, generous, and endlessly varied — the perfect setting for a journey that blends golf with culture, food, movement, and moments that linger long after the final round.
